Reflectance.custom limit file for DTX Compact OTDR

"Helping DTX Compact OTDR customers over the phone" (Version 1,5 Aug 2009) - Adobe PDF viewer is required.

Please read through the document to better understand the importance of reflectance when making an OTDR measurement. The last page talks about a pre-configured custom test limit with reflectance added. You can download this "reflectance.custom" file here.

Before you load the reflectance.custom file into your DTX CableAnalyzer, you should back up any existing custom test limits you have already created in the DTX CableAnalyzer, as the reflectance.custom file will overwrite them.

Backing up your custom test limits:

1. In LinkWare, click on Utilities > DTX CableAnalyzer > Modify DTX Test Limits
2. Select Custom Limits File.
3. Click on From DTX and enter a name you wish to call your limits file.
4. Click on Save - this will back up any custom test limits you have created already.
5. Connect the DTX CableAnalyzer you wish to load your Custom Test Limits to the computer.
    

To load the reflectance.custom file into the DTX CableAnalyzer:

1. In LinkWare, click on Utilities > DTX CableAnalyzer > Modify DTX Test Limits.
2. Select Custom Limits File.
3. Click on To DTX.
4. Select the file reflectance.custom you downloaded above .
   FINAL WARNING: This will overwrite/delete any existing custom limits in the DTX CableAnalyzer. Before you do this, save the current configuration as stated above.
5. Click OK – takes approximately 20 seconds to transfer.
